News about Dragon's Library

Many thanks to Ayende for his offer to help with the fiction database. I will need his advice in the next months.

Many apologies to those I appeared to ignore and who's emails I didn't reply to. Thanks to an ill-advised update attempt of Netscape I lost an folder with emails. I recovered most of them or so I believe. If you sent me stories or questions or anything and I didn't react, PLEASE contact me again!

Book Recommendation

Many were disappointed when the release date for George R.R. Martin's long awaited novel A Storm of Swords was postponed to August. This is the third volume of his large-scale fantasy epic A Song of Ice and Fire, one of the most successful fantasy series ever written.
Martin stated in an interview that he has ".. at least reached the end of my opening, even if it is not yet the start of the end game." Well, that's a relief in my opinion. It is the dilemma of these great series that my great anticipation is matched by my equal high frustration because I was kept in suspense since the end of the last book. It is only bearable so long.
Furthermore Martin mentioned that the next novel takes place several years after A Storm of Swords. Rumor says the titles of the three still unwritten books are "A Dance with Dragons", "The Winds of Winter" and "A Time for Wolves".

Martin's career as writer didn't begin with A Song of Fire and Ice. Three of his earlier works Fevre Dream (horror), The Dying of the Light (sf) and Windhaven (sf) are scheduled for reprint in November. This decision was undoubtly influenced by his current popularity, though these novels seem more than worth reading too. So please risk a look at them.

Read the interview with George R.R. Martin!
